Real Support for Real Artists

Bandcamp stands out for its straightforward, artist-first business model and transparent fees.

Unlike major corporate-owned streaming platforms, where major label ownership shapes the ecosystem, Bandcamp offers a direct-to-artist model, with flexible pricing that allows listeners + fans to contribute beyond the listed price—think of it as a built-in virtual tip jar.

How it works

You can use Bandcamp in two simple ways: through a web browser on your computer or by downloading the free Bandcamp app on your phone or tablet (iOS or Android). Both options let you browse music, make purchases, and access everything you’ve bought whenever you want.

  1. Find music: Go to Bandcamp and search for an artist or album you like, such as “Vermillion + Co.” or “Fool’s Gold.” You can also search by genre to discover new artists.

  2. Buy it: Click Buy, enter your payment details, and complete checkout. Enter a custom amount at checkout to show a little extra support (your “virtual tip jar”).

  3. Get your music: Right after purchase, you’ll see a download link. You’ll also get an email with the same link.

  4. Choose a format: Click the download link and pick a format (MP3 is the easiest for most people).

  5. Listen your way:

  • Smartphone or tablet (easiest): Download the free Bandcamp app (iOS or Android), log in, and your music will be there to stream or download for offline listening.

  • Computer: Download from your Purchases page and play the files on your device.

That’s it! Once you’ve bought it, it’s yours to listen to anytime.
